For Reviewers
Efficient peer review is extremely important in maintaining a high quality of scientific research. A timely review is appreciated not only by the authors but also by the Adenine Press journal office. If the potential reviewers follow the simple guideline given below, manuscript processing will become better organized.
An invitation to review an article containing the title page and abstract is sent out by e-mail from the Editorial office. If the reviewer cannot review the article for any reason, it would be helpful if a response were sent to the initial invitation to avoid repeat e-mails. Usually, three e-mails are sent out within a month if no response is received to the 1st e-mail.
Once the reviewers agree to review the article, they will receive the relevant materials electronically either as a pdf attachment or as a link in e-mail to download. The articles are not available at TCRT website to download using password. Usually, a reviewer’s comments are expected within two weeks. However, a reviewer can ask for one or two weeks’ extension if needed. It is urged that the reviewers let the editorial office know when to expect the reviews.
Key features for the review of a manuscript include an outline of:
1. Scientific soundness
2. Style of presentation
3. Completeness of literature survey
4. Recommendations to improve the quality of the article
5. Overall suitability to be published in a technical journal.
In addition, if the reviewers suspect any ethical violation such as duplicate publication, data manipulation, or plagiarism, they should inform the Editor-in-chief. Reviewers should also inform the Editor if there is a conflict of interest between the reviewers and any one of the authors. The reviewers should keep the content of the manuscript confidential and should not discuss it with students or peers.
Send the review as a Microsoft Word file attached to the e-mail. |
